Friday, April 12, 2019, at Scarlett Middle School.

The Student Advocacy Center presents: “Telling Tales Out of School,” a live storytelling fundraising event. Come and celebrate the art and craft of live storytelling, while supporting the Student Advocacy Center and its work ensuring our most vulnerable students stay in school and realize their rights to a quality public education.

Tickets: $30 at the door / $10 with Student ID (middle school and up welcome)

6:30 p.m. “Empty Chair” Art Exhibit (Ypsilanti Community High School art students). Mingling. Snacks. 50-50 raffle tickets. “Typewriter Poems” by A. Probst (personalized poems typed live, by request for $5). Music by a string quartet from Pioneer High School.

7 p.m. Doors open

The show starts promptly at 7:30 and ends at 9:30 p.m.

Featuring Lincoln High School choirs, Moth Double Grand Slam Winner Camille Woods, stories by SAC students, mini-documentary by former CNN correspondent Tony Collings, dramatic piece with EMU students in partnership with Engage @EMU.
